Welcome Daniel-Mihai Pocatilu to ML4PNP!
We are happy to welcome Daniel-Mihai Pocatilu as a new Student Research Assistant in the Machine Learning for Precision Neuropsychiatry (ML4PNP) Lab.
Daniel is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence at Tilburg University. His research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning, privacy, fairness, and reliable AI, particularly when working with sensitive real-world data.
At ML4PNP, Daniel will contribute to the NPASS Prediction project, which focuses on predicting nurses’ perceived staffing adequacy using machine learning. The project aims to leverage routinely collected hospital data to develop predictive models that could support better workforce planning, nurse well-being, and quality of patient care.
Before joining the lab, Daniel investigated fairness in Dutch speech recognition across diverse speakers. He also brings practical experience as an LLM solution architect, a data science intern at the Municipality of Capelle aan den IJssel, and a teaching assistant at Tilburg University. Daniel’s experience in responsible AI and privacy-aware machine learning will be a valuable addition to our interdisciplinary research activities.
Welcome to the team, Daniel! We look forward to working together and wish you a great start at ML4PNP.
